Volunteer With Us

College Workshop

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with refugees from Burma!  CRB coordinates a variety of relevant and rewarding volunteer activities throughout the year. Here are some ways you can help:

Tech Support

We are looking for a volunteer or two to help us make sure our laptops are set up and ready to go for a computer workshop we will be offering later in the year. We need someone in the afternoon/early evening of Thursday March 1st at our office in Seattle. Contact us at crbvolunteers@yahoo.com for more information.

Family Literacy Volunteer Classroom Assistants

CRB is starting a Family Literacy Program in March. Classroom volunteers are needed for both the Adult Literacy classes and the Early Childhood Education classes. Classes are Mondays and Thursday from 9-11am, and Fridays (times TBD) in Kent, WA. For more information, please see the Family Literacy Adult Classroom Assistant and the Childhood Education Classroom Assistant volunteer descriptions.

Youth Tutor

Volunteer Youth Tutors will provide individualized or small group tutoring services to high school aged refugee youth. Tutors will meet with students at least once a week, and services will focus on building students' academic skills, helping students to self-monitor their progress in their classes, and, in some cases, providing opportunities to build students' proficiency in English. We have opportunities in both Kent and Seattle, WA. For more information, see the Kent Youth Tutor and the In-Home Seattle Tutor volunteer position descriptions.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the volunteer coordinator at crbvolunteers@yahoo.com. More information on volunteer opportunities can be found in the 'Volunteer Position Descriptions' folder on the left.
